mimicking adults

dous playing with ah-ma

We had lunch at ellenborough on Monday. This place must had been one of our usual makan place and we liked it for the variety in food, the durian penyat, location, buffet style and the spaciousness to sit 6 adults, 1 toddler, a pram, hot water flasks and our other barangs.

Maybe things do have a maximum utility rate, this place didn't appeal to me as much as it did. The durian penyat was good and that was about the only thing i could remember. Not that the stuff were not good, but I couldn't really stand to see or stomach too much heavy food Anyways, just as well. Time to cut back on high cholesterol, over stuffing activities. Looking at and playing with dous is much much more enjoyable!

Mummy's food lifts the tired mind and body.
Thanks to mummy who prepared 2 nights of nutritious and yummy dinner for zzz and me.

Me also thinks we should be watching what we eat more.

KER $_$ CHING!!

Ruins of Sao Paulo

The old Lisboa casino, the newer Grand Lisboa is shaped like a trophy, simply too huge to take a picture but this just about shows how vibrant the city literally is

The Venetian, mega huge casino and shopping mall. Check out the 'sky'. Always a good weather, and it moves too!

Fancy a ride in this gondola?

The place for all the almond cookie fixes. Seriously good stuff for a chain store on mass production

THIS.IS YUMMY
Different from the grilled pork chop buns we used to have in Beijing

cheap and good dimsum! less than S$2 each!

The picture says it all

With more than 30 casinos of every size, it's hard to not accidentally step into one within every 200 metres or maybe even less.

So, while my parents were happily exploring the famous ones (The Venetian, MGM, Sands, Grand Lisboa and our hotel's-Sofitel), we went around to hunt for food.

A pretty good choice. I think we almost stuffed ourselves silly

Chinese always have a reason to celebrate and to eat.
It is a tradition of my mum's to cook up a really good meal during one of the 15 days of Chinese New Year...and this year, we had a meal that's SO good. i think we cleaned everything you can see here!

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner 2009

We had our Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner a week earlier at Century Village Fishhead Steamboat.

What makes the meal even more meaningful this year is this sparkle of the family running around, blabbering, poking her finger at everything that caught her attention. I know i am goo-ing about her, but she is just so lovely, i can't help it!! ^_^

The Sunshine of our Hearts

The Sunshine of our family.

Ah-Gong was busy protecting her grand-daughter from the house potential edges...hence the missing piece.heh

Dous at Botanical Gardens - Deepavali Holidays!

Dous playing with Yiyis hair, as usual

Diaper changing besides the Swan Lake (no swans in sight)

The WHOLE gang (including Ah-Gong & Ah-Ma) went to the Botanical Gardens this morning. Dous was SO HAPPY the whole day! Our dear dous was busying herself with the crowd, trees, flowers, doggies, children...well, it certainly felt like more than 2 hours in between (^_^)

More Pictures at my FB account.

zzz' s birthday

My dearest niece all tired after the fun....
Celebrated zzz's birthday earlier this year with steamboat lunch at our house. Has been more than half a year since dous came over last CNY in February. She took some time to warm up to the place, carefully observing the surroundings and the people (i.e. people are familar but the place is not!) but when she eventually did, she was her usualy self; playing, crawling, yakking away to everyone.

Evidence in the last picture, she was so tired, she could even sleep in any position (^_^)

Yum!

Kids have ALL the fun! Or rather, only kids have the cute factor to generate this level of creativity and effort from adults.

I love this 2-tiered cake(sweet & semi sweet chocolate flavors for each tier) made for zzz's nephew (little Mark) one year old birthday.

Pine-Garden cake is delicious and an eye-candy on its own, with cars, ballons and mini-candies on the side.

How CUTE is that! :)

The Whole Earth Vegetarian Restaurant

Oatmeal tofu
Nonya Curry
Olive rice so good we had 2 servings
Or-ne (aka sweet yam paste)

Went for some seriously good vegetarian food yesterday at Geylang. Besides celebrating both Sis' and my birthdays which fall by a week's difference by date, Sis also wanted to try this as a possible caterer for Dous' one year old birthday buffet.

The simply decorated restaurant gives a vastly different vibe to the ouside Geylang neighbourhood. In addition to the usual Chinese vegetarian fare which Whole Earth dishes out in quality small portions, Whole Earth also serves Peranakan vegetarian food which included the yummy kuluak dish with tofu skins, nonya curry etc.
I especially like the yam paste, very fresh and smooth, probably also because the ingredients are vegetarian and hence lacked the presence of anything too unhealthy. Oh, and the pictures above are just a sampling of what we had, the other half were simply too yummy to wait!

Just a word of caution, this place is situated in the heart of Geylang and parking is pretty atrocious on weekends. Take the public transport (nearest station is Kallang) if you can.

The Whole Earth Vegetarian Restaurant
593 Geylang Rd (Lorong 31 towards 29)

YUMMY! When can i try all of the above?!
