
We had MaLa hotpot at Chong Qing Huo Guo @ Tanglin Shopping Centre (the one with alot of carpet shops) next to St.Regis. I think it must had been my first time having mala (the name mala arising from the ma jiao spice Sichuenese loves so much) hotpot since returning from Beijing.
I was abit disappointed 'cause the taste was obviously custom made to suit local tastebuds. The ma wei (or numbing feeling that is supposed to numb-sense the mouth for hours) was too mild to qualify as a true-blue Sicheunese favourite.
But thanks gals for the dinner, had a wonderful time. Oh and the YUMMY birthday fruit tart!
